About Pentland Property Services Ltd
Pentland Property Services Ltd was established in 1999, built on a foundation of traditional craftsmanship, practical experience, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality construction.
Our story began long before the company name existed; on local building sites, learning the trade the right way.
From Apprentice to Independent Builder
Our founder trained as an apprentice to a respected local house builder, gaining full, ground‑up experience in constructing extensions and new‑build homes. This early training shaped our approach: attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and a deep understanding of how buildings are put together, not just how they look on completion.
In 1999, Pentland Property Services Ltd began operating independently, offering residential extensions, refurbishments, and improvement works across Surrey. The business grew quickly, driven by reliability, quality, and word‑of‑mouth recommendations.
Expanding Into Property Management & Commercial Work
As our reputation developed, we were invited to take on residential block management works, both reactive and planned maintenance.
This opened the door to larger, more complex environments, including commercial shopping centre maintenance and shopfitting projects.
These experiences strengthened our operational capability, broadened our technical knowledge, and deepened our understanding of compliance, safety, and stakeholder coordination.
A Turning Point: Entering the Veterinary Sector
Our introduction to the veterinary sector came through a request from a local practice. That first project led to another, and then another, ultimately shaping the direction of the company for the next 15 years.
Since then, we have worked on significant veterinary practices across the UK, from small independent surgeries to large multi‑site operators. We have delivered projects in a wide range of capacities, from targeted refurbishments to full practice transformations. Today, we are proud to be recognised as specialists in veterinary refurbishment, with a reputation for understanding the clinical, operational, and regulatory needs of modern veterinary care.
Built on Experience. Driven by Expertise.
Our journey from apprentice training, to residential construction, to commercial environments, and ultimately to veterinary healthcare, gives Pentland Property Services Ltd a uniquely broad and practical skillset. We combine hands‑on construction knowledge with sector‑specific expertise, allowing us to deliver projects that are technically sound, operationally sensitive, and built to last.
Lee Pavitt Principal
With over 35 years of hands‑on experience in the construction industry, Lee Pavitt brings a rare combination of practical skill, technical understanding, and design intuition to every project. His career began traditionally learning the trade as a house builders apprentice where he gained full, ground‑up experience in constructing extensions and new‑build homes. That early training shaped his uncompromising standards.
Lee is known for his eye for design, his attitude for perfection, and his ability to offer honest, informed advice. Clients value his straightforward approach and his commitment to finding the
best, most practical solutions, balancing aesthetics, function, compliance, and long‑term durability.
A Career Built on Experience
Over the decades, Lee has worked across residential, commercial, and specialist sectors, developing a deep understanding of how buildings work and how people use them.
Lee’s passion for construction extends far beyond the job. No matter where he is in the world, he instinctively studies buildings critiquing the good, the bad, and the questionable. It’s a habit he jokes, but it’s also what keeps his standards high and his knowledge sharp.
A memorable build
In 2011, Lee Pavitt joined a charitable project in the Gorka region of Nepal. Invited by a friend, he was tasked with designing and building earthquake-resistant foundations for a new school. The project required careful planning and practical problem solving due to the remote location and difficult terrain, including working with limited access to resources and local materials.
In 2015, the Gorka region experienced a major earthquake. The school, constructed with a focus on structural integrity, withstood the tremors and remains in use, continuing to serve the children of the village. The success of this building demonstrates the value of thoughtful and robust construction methods, even in challenging environments.
Life Beyond the Building Site
Away from work, Lee is an avid sportsman with a love for high‑energy pursuits. Motorcycle racing, horse riding, and skiing are particular favourites, activities that reflect the same focus, discipline, and drive he brings to his professional life.
